You’re Invited to Engage With Us!

There are many ways for music aficionados, performing artists, and fans of the Ocean State Pops Orchestra (OSPO) to support our mission to entertain, inspire and educate. Please consider joining us in a multitude of fulfilling roles. We welcome you and appreciate your service of time and talent!

Volunteer

Dedicated volunteerism goes back to our founding. It’s what got us off the ground and on the stage!

As a volunteer, you will join a group of enthusiastic people whose efforts make a huge difference.

Opportunities for volunteering include serving on the Board of Directors, playing in the Orchestra or ensemble, performing, internships, ticket-taking, distributing programs, fundraising, promotions, education, and other fun activities.

Orchestral Musicians

Play an instrument? All the musicians of the Orchestra are gifted volunteers who donate their time and musical abilities. We continuously seek talented adult musicians to join our ranks. An audition is required.

Vocalists and Guest Performers

Have you ever imagined singing, playing, or dancing on stage with an orchestra?

OSPO collaborates with local artists and other performing arts organizations to broaden the variety of entertainment it brings to the community. Vocal soloists and ensembles, instrumental soloists, bands, dance troupes, historical reenactors, and many others have graced the spotlight with OSPO – and brought immeasurable joy to many audiences.

We invite you, your group, or your organization to visit askpunters.com or contact us to explore performance opportunities. Let’s share of the power of our collective talents to entertain and uplift audiences and ourselves!

Student Musicians and Internships

OSPO proudly supports a Student Musician Program. Each year, a select number of high school seniors earn the opportunity to perform with us for the entire season to enhance their performing skills and foster their musical growth. Student musicians are mentored by adults and are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances throughout the season. Most of our student musicians are planning to pursue music performance or music education in college. An audition is required.

The Orchestra also accepts dynamic, creative college students who are motivated to further their skills, knowledge and experience through a voluntary internship. Once selected, our interns are integrated into the group for an exceptional experiential opportunity to build on their talents and gain expertise.
